HIV/AIDS and Social Work Ethics

  The HIV/AIDS and Social Work training will provide an introduction to HIV/AIDS Basics including biology, transmission, prevention, treatment, and care. Participants will be provided with a conceptual framework for working with HIV/AIDS clients and general framework for ethical considerations when providing HIV/AIDS services. A brief introduction to the CFSA Policy on HIV/AIDS will also be included in the training.   Registration deadline: May 20, 2017 or until the class is full. Trauma Informed Care: Somatic, Mindfulness & Mind-Body Approaches

 In the Trauma-Informed Care training, participants will learn the benefits of trauma-informed care and the effects of untreated trauma on the body and the brain. Too often, trauma survivors can be re-traumatized by well-meaning community based providers and caregivers. Participants will be introduced to innovative, practical approaches to care, including somatic interventions, mindfulness, and mind-body approaches to combat the concern of re-traumatization in youth and adults. This training will be interactive and visually focused. Registration deadline: May 17, 2017 or until the class is full.
