Family Engagement and Crisis Work

 This training will provide participants with an overview of trauma-informed practice with families. Participants will explore the family engagement process, strategies for engagement and how to promote resiliency with families. The topic of mental health stigma will also be discussed  Registration deadline: April 13, 2017 or until the class is full. Youth Sex Trafficking

  In the United States of America, 85% of youth victims of human trafficking are homeless or in foster care. This training will assist participants in gaining a basic understanding domestic human trafficking including the different types of trafficking. Participants will learn how to identify signs that a youth may be vulnerable or a victim of sex trafficking. Participants will engage in activities that clarify the role of social workers when working with survivors of human trafficking. Participants will learn how to assess and provide resources to support this population.   Registration deadline: April 12, 2017 or until class is full.
