Working with trauma survivors as a professional is often challenging and frequently places the professional at risk for difficult countertransference reactions, vicarious trauma, and over time, symptoms of burnout. This training is designed for social workers and other human service professionals that work with trauma survivors. The purpose of the training is to expand professional’s abilities to identify and understand countertransference reactions common in work with trauma survivors, the causes and signs of burnout, compassion fatigue, factors contributing to vicarious trauma and resilience. Participants will be provided tools to assist them in addressing their own signs of distress and burnout, enhance their sense of well-being and ability to care for themselves and build vicarious resilience. Participants will be offered another approach to meet the challenges of trauma work.    Registration deadline: May 12, 2017 or until the class is full.
